3.1 What parameters should I specify when registering equipment?

Required equipment parameters are: description, IP address, number of voice ports for termination.

3.2 What do gateway parameters mean?

# of Voice Ports for Termination - total number of the gateway's voice ports dedicated to terminating calls from BuySellMinutes.

Description - a user-friendly description to better identify the gateway in the BuySellMinutes.com web interface. If you don't fill the description, the IP address will be used as an identifier.

GW IP Address - the gateway's IP address. If there is more than one IP-address, please register a range of IP addresses (please draw you attention to the fact that you cannot terminate calls to the range of IP addresses).

DNIS Type of Number and DNIS Numbering Plan - specific fields required by this terminating gateway. Usually they are International and E.164 standard.

Prefix, My Equipment Sends group - the digits that will be automatically removed from the beginning of the numbers sent by this gateway to BuySellMinutes to determine the E.164 international phone number.

My Equipment Receives - the digits that will be automatically added to the beginning of E.164 numbers sent to this gateway from BuySellMinutes.com. Note that in addition to dialing prefixes, you can introduce more complex number translation rules. To set up such rules contact BuySellMinutes Technical Support for assistance.

Security ID (User) and Password ( My Equipment Sends group ) – these fields are necessary if you send calls from Cisco ATA186 or Cisco IP Phones 79xx series only in other case leave this fields empty.

H.323 Call Mode (My Equipment Sends and My Equipment Receives group ) – this parameter changes an existing call mode to mode you set here. Please do not change the value which is set by default.

H.323_ID and Domain_ID - please fill these fields if you want to change the H.323_ID and Domain which the softswitch sends to terminating gatekeeper in LRQ message from default value to one you want to send to terminator. In other case leave these fields empty.

SSW Dialpeer – it is a type of interconnection between SSW and customers equipment. Please set <BuySellMinutes.com ip address H.323 SSw <account_id> value if the equipment you want to register is a gateway(both terminating and originating) and <BuySellMinutes.com ip address GK H.323 SSw <account_id> value if the equipment you want to register is terminating gatekeeper.

3.3 Is there a limit of the number of devices I can register?

No there isn't. You may register as many gateways and gatekeepers as you need.

3.4 Is there a way to translate phone numbers sent by/to my equipment?

Use the Equipment Prefix option in setting of your GW to add/remove digits at the beginning of the number. If you need to enter more complex translation rules, contact BuySellMinutes Technical Support.

3.5 Can I limit the maximum number of calls placed on my terminating equipment?

Set the appropriate value for the ‘Number of Voice Ports for Termination' parameter of the gateway.

3.6 Does BuySellMinutes recommend any specific software versions?

In general, it is recommended that you use the latest major release. For Cisco gateways, GD or LD releases are preferable (those which don't contain a capital letter in the version number).

3.7 Does the BuySellMinutes convert Fast start with h.245 tunneling to Slow start?

Yes, BuySellMinutes can do this. Please set “slow start” value in to H.323 call mode field in for the terminating equipment.
